I was looking through some things and found this old poem that I wrote. Before I started writing raps, I was writing poetry back in 4th grade. Rapping is cool definitely, but many lyricists are well versed in other forms of creative writing as well. RAP - R.hythm A.nd P.oetry. It’s just not very swag for your favorite rapper to mention that they write poetry by candlelight while they rap about banging AK-47’s.  

Why hello Sweet, you look cold

I wear my heart on my sleeve, let me lend you my coat

Shall I button it up? May it fare you well

For the clouds will swell and the rain will fill cups

While the weight of my scent surrounds air you inhale

Let this keep you safe from such bitter gales

The storms may repel but our sun shine quells
